Kembara di bumi sendiri: Semporna (Part 2)

The next day, we woke up early, had breakfast and checked out of the hostel and went to the jetty where our tour guide was already waiting 😌.

I believed there are more than 10 islands near Semporna including the famous Sipadan, Mabul, Mataking and Bohey Dulang. Divers would usually go to Sipadan and from what I read, Kapalai island is the best for snorkelling but it is a bit further from Semporna. We found a travel agency through Facebook that provides a package to go to Bohey Dulang, Mantabuan and Sibuan for RM70 and that includes everything from the boat fee, jetty fee, snorkelling gear and also lunch!

Our first destination was Bohey Dulang. It took us around one and a half hour to reach there.

Usually, people would go there and hiked for about 600m for this view:

It was really nice and breezy up there. Most importantly, the view is picturesque. The 40 minutes hike was really worth it. However, like other famous destinations, there were too many people on top of the hill that even if we were really tired, we didn’t feel like staying there. So, we only took some pictures and went back down.

If you are planning to go, make sure you wear sport shoes. They do provide some shoes to rent for RM5/pair but you know.. lots of people have used it too πŸ˜‚.

Next, we went to Mantabuan for lunch. Not like the islands in KK, islands here don’t have any restaurants. So, you either bring your own lunch or usually it will be provided by the agent.

I like how most of the travel agency provided lunch in a reusable container rather than polystyrene. We had chicken rice and because we were really hungry and tired from the hiking, that was the fastest I have ever finished my food πŸ˜‚.

Our final destination was Sibuan. It is the smallest among the three islands that we went to. On our way there, the tour guide told us that there is a turtle inside the water but we thought he was just bluffing because it looks the same like the rocksπŸ˜‚. Suddenly, the guy jumped into the water and we saw the turtle moved really fast!

We snorkelled at Sibuan and how I wish I have a Go Pro or at least a waterproof cover for my phone  πŸ˜« because the view under the sea was really amzing. The fishes are everywhere and colourful eventhough it was only near the beach.

I think that ends my story for now because what happened afterwards would require another long post πŸ˜….
Till then, have a good weekend everyone!

Love, Qien ❀️
